Apply for pierogi

Apply for pierogi start page

I wanted to create an example service using the GOV.UK Design System. I adopted components, patterns (as well as making some of my own), backed up by user research. I decided a simple delivery service of my favourite food would be appropriate.

I started out by conducting a survey on 12 participants, to find out what the user intentions and goals are. What are their expectations of such a service? What are their needs? These were their comments:

  1. Quick and easy progression through the service
  2. Consciousness of dietary requirements
  3. A comprehensible menu of items and price clarity

All the participants who had a specific diet or wanted to avoid certain allergens commented that they prefer filtering the products before browsing. All the participants also agreed that they would rather see the price of a list item before even having to click or hover over it. Item descriptions, and an estimated delivery time before making a purchase were also highlighted as important.

With this knowledge, I constructed a design flow for the service using existing GOV.UK resources:

Design flow for 'Apply for pierogi' service

Lastly, I conducted a satisfaction survey. The participants agreed that:

  1. They enjoyed the short, to the point pages
  2. The steps were broken up in a way that was clear and straight forward
  3. There was good clarity with pricing before confirming the order
